The beach is a 600 metre walk from Dar Doughri. It is about 8km long and will allow you plenty of space to sunbathe, read, swim and play beach sports. During the summer the bay is renowned as a superb spot for kitesurfing and windsurfing. See Sports
for more details.
You can hire a sunbed and umbrella for about 25Dh per day.
There are public loos at regular intervals along the beach which are clean and well managed. The going rate for a visit is 1-2Dh.
If you have young children you can enjoy the secure play areas with swings and slides dotted along the beach. These are 5Dh per child for as long as you like.
On the beach bikinis and costumes are commonplace.Swimming Pools
In Morocco it is not common place for pools to be heated so be warned it can be a bracing experience.
You will need to inquire about the current rates for use of the pool and be prepared to pay a day rate rather than an hourly one. As a guide, the going rate is about 75Dh per person for the day.
There are 3 pools a short walk from the Dar:
- The Hotel Des Iles which has two bars, restaurant and a generous garden – be warned that the water may be quite chilly out of season.
- The Sofitel which offers not only a pool but also a high quality spa and thalassotherapy facility.
- The Hotel Vagabond which is probably the smallest pool but makes you feel very homely!
